| On 21 May 2005 the first reunion was held with Col. R. Bruce Metcalf, Mrs. Virginia Metcalf and alumni of Ridgewood Military Academy.
Former Cadet Captain Leonard Grove, Cadet LT. Col Jim Dettman, Cadet Col. Rory Gallegos and Cadet Major Howard Vermillion were instrumental in arranging this reunion. More pictures of the reunion can be seen by clicking here. All alumni are invited to register on this site. |

Link | Taps: Col Metcalf spreading of Ashes 28 May 2012: posted 23 May 2012 We are spreading half of Col. Metcalf's ashes Monday Morning, Memorial Day, 5/28/12 at 11:30 AM. The Sea detail will be leaving from the Vintage Marina Docs in the Channel Islands Marina, Oxnard California at 11:00 AM on Board a 50' Pilothouse MY, Caledonia. His remaining ashes will be spread in October when we have our Colonels Celebration of Life Party. This will give other members of his family as well as the cadets whom can't attend and are out of state time to make travel arrangements. All Cadets and family are welcome to attend. I can accommodate about 15 to 20 cadets and family on the Vessel. All those who do not make it on the boat, we will be spreading his ashes approximately 100 Yards Off Shore Due West of Mandalay Bay Resort's beach. A nice vantage point for viewing. For those watching from the beach at Mandalay Bay Resort the address is: There will be a gathering after the memorial near the harbor for lunch. We would like to know who will be attending. | This is to let you know I just heard that the Col. passed on 10 May 2012. I spoke to him on 1 May. He passed like the soldier and man we knew and respected.
